Mission Statement

Many organizations have long and wordy mission statements.

Ours is simple, but all-encompassing:

Passion for God, Compassion for People

This is based on a passage sometimes referred to as the “great commandment” of Christ from Matthew’s Gospel, 22:37-39: Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind‘; …(and), ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” (NIV)

With a few simple words, Jesus set a high standard for Christian living.  First, Christ-followers are to be passionate for God, loving Him with everything they’ve got. Secondly, as a result of loving God well, Christians are to love their neighbors and the world around them well too.

Only by the grace of God and the power of His Holy Spirit, can we achieve His standard.  That’s our goal; to love God well and to serve His world around us well too, always and only by His Spirit and His amazing grace!
